I was slightly apprehensive about this book before i started reading it, one although i love sports romance i’m not a sports fan and two i really know absolutely nothing about American football. From the start this book is all about football but i thought i would give it a go and see what happens.
Kayla is head cheerleader at Ohio State University, American football is her life, her whole family are football obsessed, she was even born in the stands after a game. This is her senior year at OSU and she can’t wait to be out there cheering for her team. Her dating history is a disaster, even making men cry after arguing over teams. Seated next to Jay at her friends wedding, they make an instant connection but her friend has sworn her not to talk football for one night, keeping her promise she finds that they have loads in common. After a slow dance that sets both there hearts racing and a kiss that makes her feel like she’s never been kissed before, she’s hooked but Jay disappears with out anyway for her to contact him.
Jay is one of the rising stars on Michigan State University football team, but it does have its down sides. Girls throwing themselves at him, camping outside his dorm just to get a chance to speak to him. He likes the attention but wants someone who likes him not his football status. When he meets Kayla, he’s found everything he’s wanted in a woman and she doesn’t know who he is! But having to leave the wedding early he’s not sure if he will see her again.
Remembering where Jay drinks, Kayla decides to track him down but when she gets to the bar he’s in its like something from a horror movie, it’s a MSU bar full of their trophies, flags and kits, to anyone else this wouldn’t be a big deal but to Kayla it’s everything. OSU and MSU are huge rivals, they hate everything about each other and its a deal breaker for her. But Jay’s not letting her go easily and after another searing kiss her addiction starts to return.
Can a cheerleader and a football player for two of the biggest rival schools remain together? What will everyone say or do when they find out? Add in the fact that not only are they three hours away from each other but both have full and hectic schedules is it even worth it?
In so glad i stuck with this book, i loved it, the chemistry between Jay and Kayla was on fire from the minute they met. It was hot and sexy but also funny at times. The only thing that let it down in my opinion was that i was lost around all the football talk but not everyone will feel the same. That aside i really enjoyed it and would highly recommend this book.
Author Bio
Nikki Sloane landed in graphic design after her careers as a waitress, a screenwriter, and a ballroom dance instructor fell through. For eight years she worked for a design firm in that extremely tall, black, and tiered building in Chicago that went through an unfortunate name change during her time there. Now she lives in Kentucky and manages a team of graphic artists. She is married and has two sons, writes dirty books, and couldn't be any happier.
