RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW ~ WHISPERED PRAYERS OF A GIRL by Alex Grayson

IT'S LIVE!

Her whispered prayers break her...

At night, as she’s drifting off to sleep, I press my ear to the door and listen to her heart wrenching pleas to bring her father back. Her words are agony to my healing heart, but I cherish the sound of them, for that’s the only time I ever hear my beautiful daughter speak. Since her father died two years ago, she’s grown quiet and withdrawn. Catalina’s Valley is to be our new beginning, a place where my family and I can heal, but what we find there is so much more.

Scars mar his body. Pain has darkened his life…

Three years ago, I lost the two things I cherished most in the world. They were ripped from my arms in the most painful and cruel way. Since then, I’ve kept to myself, preferring to stay away from the pitying looks and the uttered rumors. Everything changed when she and her children barged into my life. It was an accident, not meant to happen, but I wonder if maybe it was.

A tortured soul meets a damaged heart…

A lonely man, a widowed woman, a carefree boy, and a broken girl… Can the four come together and help heal each other? Or will fear of the unknown and guilt of the past keep them apart?

***ARC provided in exchange for an honest review - Lauren / Scandalous Book Blog***

I’ve literally just finished this book and had to start writing straight away, I’ve still got tears in my eyes! What a beautifully written book I loved everything about it there isn’t any thing that I would change. From the start you feel the characters heart ache and just pray for a happy ending.
Gwendolyn has just recently moved to Catalina’s Valley Colorado with her two children Kelsey and Daniel after her husband suddenly died  two years ago. Since then Kelsey her daughter, has had selective mutism and apart from praying each night for the return of her father hasn’t uttered a word. Gwen hopes that the move will be a fresh start for her family and allow them all to grieve each in their own way. Gwen has settled into life in small town Cat’s valley until a chance encounter at the supermarket shakes her life up, when a hostile, scarred stranger saves her embarrassment by paying for her shopping insisting on nothing in return.
There is something about this man that Gwen can’t get out of her mind.
Alexander has lived in Colorado his whole life but the last four years he has been living in seclusion. Working with horse’s and only talking to clients he has a lonely life and that’s how he likes it, that’s what he deserves! Four years ago Alexander lost his whole life which he has been left with the physical and mental scars for everyone to see, but only he hears the screams of pain and sees the pleading on her face every time he looks in the mirror, images that will live with him forever. Alexander hates going to town, hearing all the Whispered persuasion but when he sees Gwen something in him changes and he doesn’t like it.
When Gwen and her children get caught in a snow storm close to Alexander’s house he has no choice but to take them in, but little does he no that not only has he let Gwen and her children in to his home but also into his heart!!
I loved all the different relationships in this story but especially Alexander and Kelsey’s. At times it was difficult to read as the two characters held so much of their own pain but when they connected it was truly heart warming. Gwen and Alexander are so different, she’s hurting but is able to put on a brave face and continues to take on the world with the help of her children, friends and family.  Alexander lives in a world of pain and everyone can see that and he does not and will not try to hide it. It’s made him unfriendly, unsociable and unbearable to be around but together they are perfectly made to heal each other but sometimes the past has ways of preventing happiness.
Alex Grayson sure knows how to write a romance! From the very first page I was intrigued by Alexander and I wasn’t disappointed. The chemistry between Alexander and Gwen build throughout the book until I felt like I was on a knife edge. I felt like I was in the story watching them and inside their heads all at the same time, feeling every emotion they felt.
What else can I say about this book other than, I laughed, I cried a lot! and I fell in love with all of the characters. I would highly recommend this book, I would also recommend you have your tissues ready. Definitely a 5* rating.
