BREAM CAST

I checked my makeup one last time in the hallway mirror before I shut the door behind myself, fluffing my loosely curled hair. I felt professional and confident, for what was pretty much my first real job interview ever. Luckily, Remy left me her car since I had returned my rental after a few days of having it.

“Ally?” I heard that all too familiar voice as I rounded the corner to the parking lot, and I instantly stiffened, wanting to do nothing more than to turn right around and lock myself in the apartment. But I couldn’t get there fast enough.

I felt his hand land on my shoulder just as I tried to twist away. I reluctantly turned around, meeting those brown eyes that I thought I knew so well. Now all he looked like was a stranger.

“What are you doing here, Teddy?” I crossed my arms tightly over my chest, trying to look anywhere but straight at him.

“We’re just a couple of towns over, Al, you know that. It took me a while, but I tracked you down when you returned the rental. Why haven’t you answered any of my calls? I was worried as hell about you.” He reached out to brush his thumb across my cheek, but I quickly knocked his hand away.
Why had I used his dumb credit card for that rental car? I didn’t realize he was going to pull out some detective moves to track me down.

“Really? You were worried about me? That sounds awfully strange coming from someone who wasn’t so concerned about me when they were in bed with another girl.”

He let out a loud groan and moved a step closer, sucking in his lip ring as he did. “Al, you’re still my wife, and I’m always going to worry about you. That meant nothing; it was a lapse in judgment, nothing else. I swear.”

“Teddy, I don’t want to hear it.” I shoved past him, but I could feel that he was still following closely behind me. “I have somewhere to be, and I can’t be late. Just go back to your tour, and forget about me, because we’re done. There is no us, and there’s no going back.”

“Ally, you don’t mean that.” He grabbed onto the car door before I could slam it in his face and crouched down so we were face to face. His hand reached up to grip my chin and this time I didn’t twist away fast enough.

It was taking everything inside of me not to just give in. To forget everything that had happened, and start fresh. But I knew that there was no way in hell I could do that, because I would just be setting myself up to get hurt all over again.

“Please, Al, just one more chance. I swear I won’t mess this up.”

I swallowed over the thick lump in my throat, looking him straight in the eyes, to say that one word I still hadn’t been able to utter. “No, Teddy. It’s not going to happen. I want a divorce, and I want you to leave me alone. Is that really so much to ask after… after everything?”

C.A. Williams lives in Michigan and is married to her high school sweetheart. While being a stay at home to her three little ones, she likes to read and write, in between cleaning up messes and being a short order cook.

AUTHOR INTERVIEW
What sparked your interest in becoming a romance writer?
Really, who doesn’t love some kind of romance? And being able to imagine something new with every book? It really is like being able to play out every girls dream
What was the first romance novel you read that made an impression on you?
That is an extremely hard question because I’ve been reading for so long! Still thinking…still thinking. I’m gonna have to go with a more current one; SC Stephens, Thoughtless. My mind was blown!
Tell us 5 surprising things about yourself.
1. I’m an extremely calm person. A building could be on fire, and I would be able to have a straight head.
2. I danced when I was younger, and was a dancer at a studio that Katie Holmes was a student and teacher at. I never had her, but my sister did!
 3. I hate shopping! Yes, I know, most women love it, but I just don’t. I go to the store to get what I need, and I’m out. My husband, on the other hand, loves to look around and it drives me nuts.
4. I’m a fondue fanatic. I could eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if possible. I should’ve been born in the seventies or something.
 5. I’m obsessed with the beach. That’s really not too surprising, but if I could move to the beach tomorrow, I would pack my family up and do it.
What is your writing environment?
98% of the time it is pure chaos! I’m a stay at home mom, and have three little ones 4, 3, and 4 months, so really I have no peace and quiet. Luckily, I’m able to find a little bit of time, and can work with a ton of noise. By the time they’re all settled for the night, I can barely keep my eyes open, but I still peck away at the keyboard for a little while.
Do you have a website recommendation for other writers?
I had no clue what I was getting into when I first started writing. Facebook was really the most helpful, there are just so many resources. I still have a ton to learn, but there’s always new pages that I find with something helpful almost every day.
Who is your perfect hero? And why?
One that has flaws, because no one is perfect.
Which authors have caught your interest lately? Why?
Nicole Reed, I like the laugh factor she took with Cake. It was something different from her, and I loved it. I also have to immediately read anything by Jillian Dodd as soon as it’s released.
What type of book have you always wanted to write?
I was really into paranormal books for a while, and I was like hmmm…I wonder if I could write one of those?? Then I decided, I couldn’t. I mean that stuff is probably one of the most creative genres out there, and it simply blows my mind.
Who are your dream dinner party guests?
I would love to have dinner with a group of my favorite authors; Jillian Dodd, K.A. Linde, Claire Contreras, Tara Sivec. Just to name a few!
What’s the last movie you watched and loved?
Catching Fire, best one yet, but I can’t wait for Mockingjay now!

Most _____________in high school. (popular, nerdy, sporty…) Why?

I would have to go with shy. I didn’t have the best experience in high school, and really, wouldn’t ever want to repeat the experience. EVER AGAIN.

Top three things on your bucket list.

1.Go to Italy.
2.Try out scuba diving, even though I think I’ll only ever be brave enough to do snorkeling.
3. Attend a movie premiere.

How did you get the idea for this particular novel?
Well, One Simple Step is Ally’s story from the Journey series. I really felt like she needed her story even though it seemed to be wrapped up at the end of Limitless, but I just wasn’t happy with her ending quite yet.
What is your favorite scene in your new release?
My favorite part has to be the breakup scene. I’m not going to give away the specific details because I don’t want to spoil things, but it was my favorite part. Yeah, that might sound a little twisted, but I just love when books can give you that stomach-in-knots feeling, even when you’re the one writing it.
If you could be one of your characters - Who would you be? And why?
Even though you don’t see her too much in this book, I would have to go with Leah. She has a dry sense of humor that I can definitely relate to.
